Every 3rd Saturday of the month, our generous pilots volunteer their time and resources to provide first-time flights for kids aged 8-17. The goal of this program is to introduce, encourage, and provide resources for anyone looking to pursue a career or a hobby in aviation.

After your child's flight, they will be given a logbook, which provides FREE access to the online Sporty's Learn-To-Fly course. Those who sign up for the course and complete their first lesson will be eligible for another flight with us. After that, once they complete the course, they will be allowed to take a third flight with us.

The EAA also will cover the cost of their first actual flight lesson, if they choose to pursue that path, and our chapter gives away a $12,000 flight scholarship annually to a participating candidate who is eligible to pursue obtaining their pilot's license. Please reach out to Sean Nash at 239-404-6295 or seannashnaples@gmail.com with any questions!

We look forward to seeing you at the rally.

Blue Skies,

Todd Gierhartt, and the volunteers of the EAA 1067 Chapter.

Meet your Pilot
The pilots who participate in the Young Eagles program are local members of EAA who are volunteering their time and aircraft to make your flight possible. Each Young Eagles pilot is certificated with the Federal Aviation Administration or Transport Canada. Flights are conducted according to federal regulations and no aerobatic maneuvers will be performed.
What will my pre-flight be like?
First of all, your pilot will explain what you will see and do. This may include explaining how airplanes work, looking at an aeronautical chart (or map), and describing the interior of the airplane, including the instrument panel. Then comes the fun part: you get to go flying!
Safety Reminders
Safety is always top priority when it comes to aviation. Listen and follow instructions given by your pilot, stay away from the propellers, and stay with your pilot or ground crew at all times.
What will my flight be like?
You will spend about 15 to 20 minutes in the air and follow the basic steps in the flight pattern. You will experience the awesome feeling of flight that many people only dream about. Many people remember this experience for the rest of their lives. You will, too!
