This is a single morning event, starting at 9:00am for all participants. Sign-In begins at 8:45 am. Flights are assigned in priority order to first-time Young Eagles, then to returning children. Participants will receive an introductory lesson to the basics and history of flight. Kids and parents can speak with other ground volunteers about flying, building an airplane, other career paths, and similar topics while awaiting their flight. All Young Eagles will receive introductions and individual walk-throughs with their pilots.

REPEAT FLIERS: To ensure available slots for first-time fliers, sign-ups for fliers who have taken more than 3 previous Young Eagles flights will be cancelled. If you are 13 or older and actively looking into becoming a pilot, please contact us and we can discuss possible options.

Flights are assigned to first-time Young Eagles before returning fliers. A flight for repeat fliers is not guaranteed. Remeber to bring your Young Eagles log book so another flight entry can be entered into it!

REMINDER: This event may be cancelled any day leading up to the event, or cut short during the event, due to weather conditions, available pilots, available remaining seats in planes, etc.

Meet your Pilot
The pilots who participate in the Young Eagles program are local members of EAA who are volunteering their time and aircraft to make your flight possible. Each Young Eagles pilot is certificated with the Federal Aviation Administration or Transport Canada. Flights are conducted according to federal regulations and no aerobatic maneuvers will be performed.
What will my pre-flight be like?
First of all, your pilot will explain what you will see and do. This may include explaining how airplanes work, looking at an aeronautical chart (or map), and describing the interior of the airplane, including the instrument panel. Then comes the fun part: you get to go flying!
Safety Reminders
Safety is always top priority when it comes to aviation. Listen and follow instructions given by your pilot, stay away from the propellers, and stay with your pilot or ground crew at all times.
What will my flight be like?
You will spend about 15 to 20 minutes in the air and follow the basic steps in the flight pattern. You will experience the awesome feeling of flight that many people only dream about. Many people remember this experience for the rest of their lives. You will, too!
